Blog Post #12 – February 1

On Monday we picked up the new Airstream, a 27-foot Globetrotter with a queen bed in front.

If you’ve been a loyal reader, you know we sold our old Airstream a couple of weeks ago, knowing we were taking delivery of this one end of January.
We may only be gaining 2 feet but much like the Wesley’s house or tents in Harry Potter, it seems much bigger on the inside. we finally have a bed we can walk around and make easily. We have much more storage spacein the kitchen.
When we first started reorganizing our old stuff in the new trailer, I almost cried. It seemed like we had LESS storage space. Then we took the whole rig to the Container Store. We bought stuff, then returned. Three trips into the store later, we have most of what we need. Now we have massive amounts of space. Organization in an RV is key
One problem is that our trailer comes with so many pillows — decorative and otherwise — we need to get rid of some. And they are dry clean only, not something that works with our camping lifestyle. Also the cushions to make couches into beds take up so much room the entire closet is filled. We are putting those in storage. If you want to stay over, give us fair warning!

Fewer pillows, washable duvet
There were some minor snafus — missing refrigerator shelves, magnets to turn off over cabinet lights — but mostly it’s smooth sailing. We expect things to go wrong. They always do. This dealer has new owners set up a 60 day follow up appointment for just this reason.

We are super happy and excited. I’ll have more photos as we get reorganized.
Wait! Make your bed? Thats a thing?
